The 2007 National Team roster has been set, USRowing announced on Monday. Twenty-six crews will represent the United States at the 2007 FISA World Rowing Championships scheduled for August 26-September 2 in Munich, Germany.
The U.S. will have crews competing in the women's single sculls, lightweight men's single sculls, lightweight women's single sculls, men's double sculls, women's double sculls, lightweight men's double sculls, lightweight women's double sculls, men's quadruple sculls, women's quadruple sculls, lightweight men's quadruple sculls, lightweight women's quadruple sculls, men's pair, women's pair, men's pair with coxswain, lightweight men's pair, men's four, women's four, men's four with coxswain, lightweight men's four, men's eight, women's eight and lightweight men's eight. In addition, the U.S. will have crews racing in the adaptive men's single sculls, adaptive women's single sculls, adaptive double sculls and adaptive four with coxswain.
The 94-person roster includes 75 past national team members. Sixty-two athletes return from last year's squad that competed at the 2006 FISA World Championships in Eton, England. The U.S. won seven medals in Eton including gold medal in the women's eight. Eight members of that boat are back to defend their title.
Five members of the men's eight that won bronze in Eton are returning to race in the event, as are three members of the women's four that won bronze last year. The four-time champion adaptive double sculls duo of Angela Madsen and Scott Brown will be back to defend their title. Adaptive single sculler Ron Harvey won silver in the event last year and also will compete in Munich.
